Other Tank Sizes Water Storage Facts   The minimum flow rate for a home is about 6 gpm (gallons per minute) 10 gpm is more desirable.  When the water source or well reservoir cannot deliver the required flow rate an intermediate storage tank is recommended.

If your source tends to decrease or dry up for short periods, consider an intermediate storage tank with at least one day’Äôs total water needs. Additional storage capacity may be desirable for future expansion and emergencies, such as at least 1200 gallon tank for fire protection.
